Soccer (Football) aims for one team to score more goals than the other. Two teams of eleven players each compete to move the ball into the opposing team’s goal while defending their own.
Field Layout:
The game is played on a rectangular grass field with two goals at each end. The field includes a midfield line, penalty areas, and a center circle for kickoffs.
Gameplay Basics:
Starting Play: The match begins with a kickoff from the center circle. Teams pass, dribble, and shoot to move the ball toward the opponent's goal.
Scoring: A goal is scored when the entire ball crosses the goal line between the posts and under the crossbar.
Defense: Teams try to regain possession by tackling, intercepting, or forcing errors, while the goalkeeper protects the goal.
Fouls and Free Kicks: Players must avoid fouls like tripping, pushing, or handballs. Infractions result in free kicks, penalties, or cards.
Timing: Matches consist of two 45-minute halves, plus added stoppage time. If tied in knockout games, extra time or penalties may follow.
Winning: The team with the most goals at the end of the match wins.
Soccer blends endurance, skill, and tactics to create the world’s most popular sport.
